Joining Mutual of Omaha as a Full Stack Java Engineer presents an exceptional opportunity to spearhead critical integrations within our Workplace Solutions division. WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Compensation (Levels have variable responsibilities and qualifications)
  • Estimated Salary Engineer I: $95,000 - $115,000, plus annual bonus 
  • Estimated Salary Engineer II: $110,000 - $130,000, plus annual bonus
  • Benefits and Perks, 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.
  • Regular associates working 40 hours a week can earn up to 15 days of vacation each year.
  • Regular associates receive 11 paid holidays in 2024, which includes 2 floating holidays that are added to your prorated personal time to be used at your discretion.
  • Regular associates are provided sick leave through the use of personal time. Associates working 40 hours a week can receive up to 40 hours of personal time in 2024, which is prorated based on the start date. Additionally you will receive two floating holidays in 2024 by way of personal time that may be used at your discretion.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Contribute primarily to front-end development (80%), while supporting front-to-back development, testing, maintenance, and integration of applications/systems.
  • Participate in ideation and brainstorming sessions to devise creative and disruptive digital solutions, developing apps, APIs, and data solutions for implementation.
  • Occasionally assume multiple roles such as individual contributor, lead, teacher, and mentor.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the supported business area(s), including awareness of related objectives and challenges.
  • Evaluate various options, assessing performance trade-offs and benefits.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Seeking a candidate with extensive experience with React, along with a strong understanding of JavaScript (ES 6+)
    • Familiarity with Angular, TypeScript, NodeJS, npm/yarn, Jest and/or Jasmin
  • Working experience with Java, Spring / Spring Boot, SQL, Rest APIs and microservices
  • Develops unit tests (JUnit/Spock) and uses version control (GitHub)
  • Collaborative attitude and a willingness to work with team members
  • Driven to pick up new tech through research and investigation

  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.
