Mutual of Omaha is seeking an experienced Software Engineer III that will design, develop and implement our next-generation integration solutions for insurance and financial solutions. You will improve how millions of people access and interact with our products, the way business partners support our customers and use data, as well as explore new technologies to better meet those needs.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Engineer lll: $130,000 - $150,000, plus annual bonus opportunity
  • Benefits and Perks, 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.
  • Regular associates working 40 hours a week can earn up to 15 days of vacation each year.
  • Regular associates receive 11 paid holidays in 2024, which includes 2 floating holidays that are added to your prorated personal time to be used at your discretion.
  • Regular associates are provided sick leave through the use of personal time. Associates working 40 hours a week can receive up to 40 hours of personal time in 2024, which is prorated based on the start date. Additionally you will receive two floating holidays in 2024 by way of personal time that may be used at your discretion.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead in the design, development, and implementation of integrated solutions in an API Event-based architecture.
  • Builds/manages stable secure cloud infrastructure/networking using cloud orchestration capabilities, scripting languages and APIs to design, code, test, implement and support for On-premise and Public Cloud.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement emerging technologies that will improve operational excellence, speed solution delivery, and improve technology engineering processes.
  • Can play multiple roles (e.g.: individual contributor, lead, teacher, mentor).
  • Translates business/user requirements into technical requirements, and applies creative problem solving that bring these requirements to fruition for a team. Creates and reuses designs and design artifacts. Performs tradeoff and cost benefit analyses.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Professionally contributed to solution development, documentation, and implementation over the last 7 years in:
    • Java, JavaScript, Python, Spring Boot
    • API / Microservices
  • Learns quickly when facing new problems and is a relentless and versatile learner, open to change. Analyzes both successes and failures for clues to improvement.
  • Has a collaborative attitude and a willingness to work with team members; is able to coach, participate in code reviews, and share skills and methods with their team.
  • You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Ability to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and in a listed location.

  • MuleSoft (Administration, configuration and tuning preferred)
