Mutual of Omaha is seeking an experienced Software Engineer that will perform application design, development, support and integration for the Distribution Operation Compensation Systems. The position requires someone who can lead the implementation of business requirements into existing systems while also improving processes and technical modernization.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Compensation (Levels have variable responsibilities and qualifications)
  • Estimated Salary Engineer I: $95,000 - $115,000, plus annual bonus.
  • Estimated Salary Engineer II: $110,000 - $130,000, plus annual bonus. 
  • Benefits and Perks, 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.
  • Regular associates working 40 hours a week can earn up to 15 days of vacation each year.
  • Regular associates receive 11 paid holidays in 2024, which includes 2 floating holidays that are added to your prorated personal time to be used at your discretion.
  • Regular associates are provided sick leave through the use of personal time. Associates working 40 hours a week can receive up to 40 hours of personal time in 2024, which is prorated based on the start date. Additionally you will receive two floating holidays in 2024 by way of personal time that may be used at your discretion.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Contribute towards the end-to-end development, testing, maintenance, and integration of Compensation related applications/systems.
  • Ideation and brainstorming sessions to devise creative digital solutions. Improve existing processes.  Ability to have a modernization mindset while working with existing systems.
  • Get to know the supported related business area(s), have an awareness of related objectives, processes and challenges
  • Evaluate options and the performance tradeoffs/benefits

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Professionally solved challenges for full-stack application development and implementation over the past three years or more including: COBOL, DB2, SQL, JCL, CA7, Topaz,  and overall mainframe knowledge
  • Driven to learn new technologies through research and investigation.
  • Willingness to learn business systems and processes.
  • You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience with APIs, Web Services, and integration a plus
  • Test Driven Development (TDD), Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
